FIRELAND R.I.P

We at Mango Pudding Blues suppose that one of the nice things about blogging is that one is one’s own boss. Quotas and deadlines are arbitrary and artificial, and one can simply stop anytime one has nothing to say. Unlike, say, the newspaper columnist, bloggers don’t have to fill their whole with words whether they want to or not.

One can, also, quit whenever one wants, as did one of our favorite writers (and occasional correspondent!), Joshua Allen, a few weeks ago. Joshua’s amazing Fireland, we regret to say, is closed.

Although Mango Pudding Blues will, we assure you, return in just a few more days, we would not be here at all were it not for Fireland. All of Joshua’s generous archives are still available, and we think you should not only go read them, but write to him with your thanks. We secretly think he might come back if you do.

And to those of you who have written us in the past couple of weeks, encouraging us to continue, we thank you. Your words are a tonic to our troubled soul. Stay near. Write often. Say yes.
