JONATHAN LETHEM’S SHIRT
1) Today, or at the latest tomorrow, you are to pop by your local newsagents and take a peek at the new issue of People magazine. The special double ‘Best and Worst Dressed’ issue. Turn to page 55, where there is a picture of Jonathan Lethem. Look at the shirt he’s wearing. I am wearing that same shirt right at this very minute.
2) Blogger has just juiced up the features for freeloading users like Mango Pudding Blues, and we are, frankly, overjoyed. It will probably take us months to get around to modifying things around here to take advantage of the new features, but we will. We will.

MANGO SALSA BLUES
Every weekday morning I make my girlfriend a brown-bag lunch. Today, as I was spreading some home-made mango salsa* on her avocado/red pepper/peashoot/cream cheese sandwich, I wondered what the difference is between a salsa, a relish and a chutney.
*1 mango, half a jalapeno, seeded or not according to heat tolerance, a handful of cilantro, some diced red pepper. Into the food processor.
